Forever I Love, Forever I Mourn [Part 5]

ah beloved
my lionheart
i should never have left you
oh most cursed creature am i
but i will pay for this
my greatest mistake
pay most dearly

i followed my spirit
the call of the world
and left you
all alone
can you ever forgive me?

if only i had known
if only i had listened to my heart
i would have been there
to comfort you
to love you
when you most needed love

the car was a monster
disguised with metal
and it devoured you
completely
black and red
twisted screaming metal
twisted bleeding body

i returned
from my waltz with the wind
seeking you
as always

as i swept across the sky
i saw black smoke

i went to investigate
and to my horror
i found you
sprawled there before me
so bloodied
so twisted
so mangled
so dead

no matter how frantically i looked
i could no longer see the beauty
that once lived
within that twisted piece of flesh

and so i wail
wail louder than the most forlorn wind
lost, lonely and loveless
for i have lost you
lost you forever

i should have been with you
there at the end
i would have been able to set you free
to roam the world with me

can you ever forgive me?
