I was fossicking through some of my belongings the other day, as I am wont to do on occasion.
That event in itself would probably never be considered a networthy moment. However, while engaged in this fossicking, I came across several books of poetry that I wrote years ago.

It was interesting, and sometimes frightening, to read what I had written in my dim dark past. Some of the poems I created back then are most definite in their difference to the type of poetry I tend to shape nowadays. I won't fall into a deep discourse on my old poems but I will mention that I seemed to write a lot more surrealistic poems. I also seemed to have an alarming tendancy to write extremely long poems - some nearly five miles long.

Anyway, this discovery of aged and once thought abandoned poetry gave me cause to go a little Retro for awhile. [Whether that's a good thing, I know not.] So I decided to post some of my old poems on this Retro page. You will find links to quite a variety here. So c'mon, scroll on down.

The Funeral
- An experiment in poem structure.

The World Came Shining Through
- A poem about the ever-growing power of telecommunication. An appropriate poem for the Internet, don't you think?

D.N.A.
- This poem about DNA betrays my connections to science in my past.

Probability
- A lonely love poem.

Existential Blues
- Surrealism in rhyme. Scary thought, isn't it?

Strange Fits of Hunger
- Parody sometimes just slips out, doesn't it? This poem parodies 'Strange Fits of Passion' by William Wordsworth.

Warm Heart, Mein Heart
- Science Fiction strikes with a vengance.

I Am Me
- Self Identity? A very dark poem.

Surreal Musings
- One of my mile long poems with elements of surrealism fading in and out.

The Nun In Black
- Inspired by a recurring nightmare I used to have on a regular basis. Ironic subject matter considering I'm not Catholic.

Wait For It
- Another long poem wending its way through the darker aspects of existence. It has a bleak theme but still manages to drift from reality to reality.

Tomorrow
- Will tomorrow ever come?
