Shards
© 2003 Brodiss
The cracks in the
mirror
Are widening
Extending
Fracturing further the fragmented images
That dance within the harsh tapestry of glass
All illusions of reality
are being shattered
The truth is creeping through the cracks
Slithering through to engulf all hope
And leave nothing but glassy despair
Glass shards lie scattered
on the floor
Sharp and silver in the light
Reflecting instants of a dying life
Razor edges cut deep and swift
Colouring what is left of the world
In a red darker than death
Leaving no solution but sweet oblivion
When I gaze in the
mirror
I see that is the only possible answer
