Help Section Below are a number of topics to assist you in getting the most out of this site. To view the information for a particular topic, left-click on it and you will be transported to the relevent section. If you have any further questions feel free to contact me at brodiss[at sign]myaubergine.com. 1. What resources are available
on this site? 1. What resources are available on this site? There are a variety of resources available for use on this site. The Presets section contains a number of presets that I have created for use with PhotoShop 6. These include brushes, styles and gradients. The Graphics section contains a variety of textures and seamless tiles that are suitable for use in most graphics programs. You may even wish to use the graphics on your own non-commercial web site. (Please read the Terms of Use section for all copyright information in relation to the contents of this site.) To navigate to any of the main sections of this site you can use the menu bar located on the lefthand side of each page, or you can use the hyperlinked text situated at the bottom of each page. Just left-click your mouse button when the cursor is situated over the section you wish to explore, and the link will take you there. Some sections contain sub-sections. Once you have selected one of these sections, a sub-menu will appear in the menu bar, which you can use to navigate to the various sub-sections. There is also a site map that provides links to all the pages. The site map can be accessed from the hyperlinked text at the bottom of each page. To download the zipped Preset files, right-click on the hyperlinked file you wish to download and then select "Save Target As...". Once you have done that a dialogue box will appear. Select the location on your hard drive where you wish to save the file to, and then click on "Save". Note: It would be a good idea to create a specific folder for these files as you will need to unzip them before you can use them within PhotoShop. To download the graphics, right-click on the image you wish to save and select "Save Picture As...". Select the folder you wish to save the image to, and then left-click on "Save". 4. How to unzip the zipped files. To unzip the files you will need an program like WinZip. (If you don't have a Zip utility, you can download an evaluation version of WinZip here from the official WinZip site.) Use the Zip program to open the zipped file you have downloaded. Then use the "Extract" option to unzip the zipped file to the location of your choice. 5. How to install the resources in PhotoShop 6. If you like to keep your files organised, you will want to copy the preset files into the PhotoShop folder. You can either copy the files into the relevent folder within the main Presets folder (for example, you would copy a brushes file into the "Brushes" folder contained within the "Presets" folder), or you might like to create a new folder for the additional files so that they are kept separate from the preset files that come with PhotoShop. To use the files in PhotoShop you will need to take the following steps:
All the resources on this site have been created by me and I have made them available for personal non-commercial use. If you use any of these resources I would appreciate you sending me an email and letting me know how you've used them. If you have used them within a web site, please send me the URL so that I can check out your artistic efforts. I would be grateful if you would take the time to do so as I would then know that the time I spent creating these resources has been of benefit to others as well as myself. These resources are not to be distributed, or made available on other web sites, without first obtaining my permission. (It's a manners thing.) You are welcome to provide a link to my site but please don't link directly to files I have made available on this site. (Another manners thing.) These files are not for commercial use or for distribution without my permission. If you wish to use these files commercially, you will need to reach an appropriate agreement with me.
