Went to the dentist today - few people would envy that. It was a relatively painless experience for my mouth, fortunately, but my bank account can't say the same.

My dentist is very pregnant too. She isn't the tallest of people so I asked her if, when she could no longer reach her patients, they would be installing a pulley system so that she could be suspended from the ceiling. I thought the idea workable but she informed me that such a system was not on the agenda. A pity as I would have definitely been willing to pay extra just to witness such a feat.

Went for a quick surf on the Net today and found a couple of sites that tickled my funny bone. One was Engrish.com - a site devoted to photos illustrating the Japanese fascination with using English words, even when they don't know what the words actually mean.

The other site is by James Lilek. He has found a variety of books from the 50s and has dissected the illustrations with a wit that caused me to laugh out loud - heaven knows what the neighbours think of that. He has also published a book which examines this era in greater detail - a book that I am seriously contemplating purchasing.

Tonight I watched an half hour documentary on Steve Irwin. I'll be the first to admit that he's not awe-inspiring to me, personally. However, I support his intentions in relation to conservation and the preservation of our ever-diminishing wildlife. The doco was interesting and has actually improved my attitude towards the man.

My Spike Jones parcel arrived today. Much excitement and throwing about of arms in barely restrained rapture.

I've already listened to some of the CDs and have enjoyed my flashback to an earlier time. Also I'm getting to hear tracks that I've never heard before.
